According to the findings of Hasht-e Subh Daily, the Taliban have arrested at least 59 residents of Panjshir province in the past two weeks, both from the province itself and Kabul.
These arrests took place in various provinces starting from October 16th of this year.
The findings reveal that the Taliban detained 30 individuals from Pajwai, 15 from Dara-e-Abdullahkhel, two from Takhaw village, and two others from Abshar district in Panjshir province.
Additionally, the group has also detained ten residents of Panjshir from different parts of Kabul city.
While some of the arrested individuals have been released, there is no information available about the fate of others.
During this period, Taliban forces shot and killed five young people from Panjshir in two separate incidents at their checkpoints in Kabul city following verbal altercations.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) recently released a report stating that the number of prisoners in Taliban prisons has exceeded 17,000 individuals until mid-September of this year.
This figure indicates a significant increase in Taliban detainees compared to 2022 when the average number of prisoners was 10,000.
However, the Taliban have not been held accountable by any authority for their actions of this nature.
