ٔNavid's Brother: Taliban told us that Navid is with them and that he would be released after investigation. When we came back a few days later with a number of elders, they said he ran away from us. Later his dead body, which showed signs of torture, was found in a hospital.

Relatives of a young man named Navid Ahmad in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province, confirm that he was killed by Taliban forces for a critical post on Facebook.

Sharif Sharafat, Navid Ahmad's brother, said in a Facebook post that the Taliban had taken him away from home on Thursday last week, and then they found his dead body in a hospital on Sunday.

He added that his brother had been "brutally" killed after being "tortured".

According to Sharif Sharafat, Navid Ahmad wrote a Facebook post in support of teachers a few days ago, criticizing their non-payment of salaries. "Teachers demand salaries from the Taliban," Navid Ahmad wrote.

He asserted that Nawid Ahmad had been detained by Taliban forces after the memo, and that his tortured body had been found in hospital a few days later.

Navid Ahmad was a graduate of economics and agriculture.

His brother has called on the Taliban to bring justice to the case.

Hafiz Rashid, the Taliban's director of intelligence and culture, said the group was investigating Navid Ahmad's murder. According to him, a committee has been set up to look into the matter.
