A Herat man on Saturday doused his wife in petrol before setting the 23-year-old woman on fire in Anjel district, officials said.

According to officials the incident took place after the two had an argument.‎

The woman survived the incident but is in hospital.

According to police, the husband fled the area but police are looking for the man.
