Nearly four children were killed and three others wounded after a rocket tip exploded while they were playing with in Baghlan province, local officials said Sunday.
The incident took place in the capital city of Baghlan, Pul-e-Khumri on Saturday while children were playing with the rocket.
Officials in Baghlan hospital confirmed the casualties, adding that the wounded children are in a stable health condition.
Officials did not provide more details about the blast.
This comes after a new report published by Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) reveled that civilian casualties in Afghanistan has increased by 17 percent in 1394.
According to the human rights commission, armed opponents were responsible for 72 percent of the casualties while nine percent was at the hands of government forces.
