At least five people have been killed and 62 injured in a suicide bomb explosion in Afghanistan’s southern Zabul Province, said authorities.
According to the Dawn, council director Atta Jan Haqbayan said that a blast took place at the gate of the provincial council’s compound in provincial capital Kalat.
Two women were among the three council members who were critically wounded, said Haqbayan, adding that children were also among the injured.
Zabul’s police chief Mirwais Noorzai said the bomber detonated the explosives inside a small truck, and added that the number of casualties might increase.
