A 16-year-old boy who confessed to having been gang-raped by Taliban commanders and forced to carry out a suicide attack has been arrested in Kabul, National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement Sunday.
Would-be suicide bomber, Bilal, said that Muzamil, Hijrat (known as Abozar), Tahir and Honzala were the four Taliban commanders who sexually abused him in Bati Kot district of eastern Nangarhar, NDS said.
Bilal told NDS that when local residents found out about the sexual abuse, the commanders forced him to attack a police station in Bagrami in Kabul.
"Abozar who was the commander of 20 [Taliban] taped my mouth [shut] and raped me the night before I was supposed to attack the Bagrami police station," Bilal said in footage sent by NDS.
Crimes of a sexual nature are a common occurrence against children and teenagers in Taliban and Haqqani bases, NDS continued.
