Domestic violence claims 4 lives

Mazar Ali suspected a family dispute behind the triple-murder, saying the assailant had joined the insurgents

By Sharafuddin Stanikzai

Two separate domestic violence incidents claimed four lives in Badghis and Ghazni provinces, officials say.

In the western province of Badghis, a man shot dead his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law in Dara-i-Boom area of Qades district on Wednesday night, the district chief said.

Mazar Ali suspected a family dispute behind the triple-murder, saying the assailant had joined the insurgents. Security officials are investigating the incident, he said.

In southern Ghazni, a youth committed suicide late on Wednesday night in the Haiderabad area on the outskirts of Ghazni City.

Civil Hospital director Dr. Baz Mohammad Himmat said they had received the dead body of a 25-year-old, Zabihullah, who hanged himself to death.

A friend Jamshid said Zabhiullah committed suicide after knowing the girl he liked had been engaged to another person.
