A girls’ high school has been set afire in northern Kunduz province, an official said on Saturday.
Militant torched the school in the Aalchi area on the outskirts of Kunduz City late on Friday night, the deputy police chief said.
Col. Ibadullah Talwar told Pajhwok Afghan News firefighters controlled the blaze that damaged a portion of the school.
Police also defused several bombs planted by rebels on the roads to the school, he claimed, calling for an end to attacks on educational institutes.
