Police recovered a girl’s body with signs of being hanged in the Nahrin district of northern Baghlan province, officials said on Monday.
The 17 years old girl’s corpse was found in Sheikh Jalal area by residents in the afternoon, Abdul Fatah Hatef, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the body was evacuated to the main provincial hospital for forensic examination.
Dr. Mohammad Anwar Wardak, director of the Pul-i-Khumri Civil Hospital, confirmed receiving the body. He said further details would be shared with the media once their examinations were complete.
It was the fourth murder during the ongoing year in Baghlan province, where two girls -- aged 12 and 22 years -- disappeared from Pul-i-Hesar last week. One of them was found dead after two days in Deh Salah district.
