The two children killed in an acid attack in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province.

Two children have been killed in an acid attack in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province, the provincial police chief said Saturday.

The children died after acid was thrown on their faces and into their mouths, police chief Zrawar Zahid said.

Their bodies were brought to Ghazni hospital by the Afghan National Army Friday, after villagers raised the alert, he said.

The bodies were found in Nani village, in Ghazni province's Andar district, Zahid said.

Police do not know if the children are from Ghazni or who their families are, he said.
