A 7-year old girl was raped by a young man in Ghazni. The girl is currently under treatment in the provincial hospital of Ghazni province of Afghanistan. Doctors in the hospital say that her condition is better now.
According to Fauzia Kakkar, director of the law of the Administration of Women’s Affairs of Ghazni, several other cases of rape of young girls has taken place in the province but due to the lack of the required resources this administrational department has not been able to investigate the cases. The police have not yet succeeded in catching the rapist.
Unfavourable conditions for the marriage of young girls and family enmities are said to be causes of such incidents.
