Kabul, Seven people, including several children, were killed on Friday in a NATO airstrike in the western Afghan province of Farah on the border of Iran.
According to Afghan security sources, the target of the attack was the home of a key Taliban commander in the area.There was no immediate comment from the US-led coalition.More than 500 civilians have been killed during military operations by foreign and Afghan forces against militants so far this year.The latest attack follows a controversial attack in neighbouring Herat province where the government says more than 90 civilians were killed in a US-led coalition air strike last month.Farah's deputy governor Mohammad Younus Rasooli confirmed the bombing but did not give details of the number of casualties.
