Hundreds of pro-Taliban Pakistani fighters were systematically massacred in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif after being callously abandoned by retreating Taliban fighters.

The Taliban soldiers fled from Mazar on Nov.9, 2001 but failed to inform a contingent of up to 1,200 Pakistani jihadis that they were leaving. Northern Alliance troops trapped the Pakistanis in Sultan Razia school on the outskirts of the city and then shot hundreds of them.
