November 25, 2021, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) held a gathering with the participation of a number of its members and supporters under the misogynist and medieval rule of the Taliban.

RAWA commemorates this day as the United States and its allies once again handed over power to the bloodthirsty Taliban, and now the countries of the region and the West are dealing with these killers for their strategic interests. Despite all the apparent “concern”, what is of no value to them is the fate of the people, especially the suffering women of Afghanistan.

At the beginning of the event, the host said:

“Although this time the Taliban are trying to show a softer side in order to gain the support of the world and international bodies, but their reactionary and misogynistic nature has not changed. They are now committing various crimes on a large scale… Could hundreds of mothers forget the pain of losing their loved ones in Taliban suicide attacks? Do the scenes of Zarmina’s execution and flogging of women disappear from our minds? Can their deceptive promises be trusted today?”

Recalling the courage and struggle of martyred Meena, a member of RAWA spoke about the current situation and the continuation of our struggle:

“We know that in the current situation, it is extremely dangerous and difficult to continue our struggle and raise our voice, but Afghan women who have been protesting under the presence of the Taliban for the past three months have shown that no force can imprison them in chains of ignorance and barbarism. It is for this reason that the Taliban are also very afraid of the small actions of women and are trying to silence them in every way possible.”

Although November 25 is celebrated around the world, the violence that we Afghan women have experienced during the forty years of Jehadi and Taliban rule and other US puppets is certainly unparalleled in the world. Years of war, migration, and exile subjected us to all kinds of pains, but in recent months have taken away the slightest sign of hope and life from Afghan women. Deprivation of education, employment, and even lack of access to health facilities and other necessities are a double burden on the ongoing violence in the patriarchal family and society. Nevertheless, the obvious difference between these days and years ago is that women have risen far more courageously and boldly against the current oppression of the Taliban. Afghan women learn from Mirabel sisters to not stop fighting against violence or dropping their banner.

Our voice as Afghan women cannot be silenced and we will stand by you in the most suppressive and tough situations inside the country and we will not withhold any help from you. If we become conscious and united like the heroines of Kobani, we can defeat any anti-women forces and its savagery.“

At the end of the meeting, all the members of RAWA once again pledged that as the companions of Meena, they will continue to fight and strive at every possible level and form.
