HELP US
run Malalai Hospital in Pakistan
We urge you to help us provide desperately needed healthcare to Afghan refugees by raising funds for Malalai Hospital. Consider making a tax-deductible donation today. The monthly maintenance costs of Malalai Hospital is $19,000 (US dollars).
Make a Donation Now
Hundreds of thousands of our women and children are in need of the medical services provided by Malalai Hospital. Many are sick and dying from easily treatable conditions. We kindly urge you to help our women and children by making a monthly donation of $20, $50, $100 or more to the Afghan Women's Mission, a US-based NGO set up to raise funds for the hospital. For every $50 that you give you will be making it possible for 16 women and children to be seen and treated by a doctor. We thank you in advance for your help.
About Malalai Hospital
RAWA founded Malalai Hospital in 1986 in Quetta, Pakistan for the purpose of providing health care to Afghan women and children refugees. It served 400 patients per day and developed a reputation of being one of the best hospitals in the area particularly in helping land mine explosion victims.
Malalai was the name of a legendary Afghan woman who participated in
the battle of Maiwand against the British troops in 1880. It is narrated that she used her veil as a banner to encourage the Afghan warriors in the battle against the invaders. Though it was necessary to close Malalai hospital after 10 years due to lack of financial support, we have re-opened the hospital in Nov. of 2001 and are now treating Afghan women and children. Your support is needed to help keep this program running .
