RAWA in drought-stricken villages of Herat

Lessons, books, teachers and going to school are concepts from an alien world for these young children. As if the mediaeval restrictions imposed by the Taliban were not enough, the on-going severe drought has added hunger and malnutrition to their sufferings. Footwear, soap, toothbrushes and other basic personal needs are sheer luxuries these youngsters can only dream of. Unfortunately, due to acute financial restrictions RAWA is able to support only a limited number of such children in its home-based schools.
